Frequently Asked Questions
1;
What is HP4 – paint or thermal insulation?
HP4 is not a traditional paint or a classic thermal insulation. It is a functional thermal coating that regulates the behavior of heat on the surface.
2;
How is it different from traditional thermal insulation?
Thick insulation slows down the heat flow, while HP4 acts directly on the surface: it reflects part of the radiant heat and optimizes the thermal performance of the surface.
3;
What is the effect in summer and winter?
It reduces the heating of the walls in summer and reduces heat loss in winter - thus creating a more balanced internal climate all year round.
4;
Is the difference really noticeable?
Yes. The effect is primarily manifested in the thermal sensation: a more even surface temperature and a more comfortable indoor environment.
5;
What surfaces can it be applied to?
For almost all common construction surfaces: plaster, concrete, drywall, metal, wood - with appropriate priming.
6;
Can it be used both outdoors and indoors?
Yes. In addition to the HP4 indoor version, the HP4+ has been developed for outdoor and heavy-duty use.
7;
Does it replace thermal insulation?
No. HP4 does not replace thick thermal insulation, but rather provides a solution to a different problem – it complements it.
8;
How well does the wall “breathe” under the coating?
HP4 has a particularly high vapor permeability, thus supporting the natural vapor control of the building structure.
9;
Does it contain substances harmful to health?
No. According to data tested by TÜV , HP4 materials have ZERO VOC content , and many volatile components are undetectable.
10;
What thickness should it be applied?
The effect is already achieved in a thin (~1 mm) layer, so it does not require a thick layer or serious structural intervention.
11;
If there is already insulation, does it make sense?
Yes – in fact, it works really well there.
Insulation and HP4 work together: one slows down heat flow, the other controls surface thermal behavior.
12;
Will I feel the difference?
Yes – but not just “in numbers”, but:
less hot walls in summer
more balanced thermal sensation
more stable indoor climate
This is the point where HP4 “comes through”.
13;
Isn't it too good to be true?
A legitimate question.
That's why it has a documented technical background and real references behind it - not just a promise.
14;
How durable is it?
The durable, outdoor version of the coating (HP4+) is weather-resistant and, according to tests, can withstand cyclic loads.
15;
Is the construction complicated?
Not.
It is a system that can be applied practically using simple hand painting technology, so there is no breakdown or thick layering.
16;
Why doesn't everyone use it if it's so good?
Because it is not a “classic category”.
HP4 is not paint or insulation – which is why many people simply don't understand it at first.
However, those who try it usually start using it systematically.
